Kids, Start Your Engines!

The 2k Kids’ Dash is always one of the highlights of our events and the dash at the Mizuno Devonport Half Marathon will be no different! We have a great course for the kids to take part on with no road crossings and a half way mark close to the finish area so family and friends can cheer their youngsters on mid-race too.

Every kid who finishes receives one of our great Devonport Half Marathon dog tags – ideal for show-and-tell on Monday morning.

go dashing mad!

Course Description

The kids dash comprises two roughly 1km long sections.

The first section heads west from the ferry terminal towards the navy base to a turnaround point. Kids then head back towards the start line and, once there, will be directed around Windsor Reserve. The second section goes out along the footpath of King Edward Parade to the easterly turnaround point. Kids then return towards the finish line on the shell path on the sea wall.

Once at Windsor Reserve, they bear left onto the boardwalk and then follow the promenade around the seaward boundary of the reserve before turning in to the finish line. When they finish, there are two important pieces of business to take care of; collecting a lolly and that all important finisher Dog Tag!
